Holistic Wellness
The Holistic Wellness approach means accessing you and treating you as a whole. Giving awareness to the physical body, the subtle emotions, and the etheric spirit we each have inside.
With suggestions, recommendations, and attention to your individualized needs and goals. Whether this is weight loss, sleep, digestion, elimination, anxiety, depression, sluggishness, or overall better feeling in your body, a holistic approach will help you achieve your goal.
What is Holistic Wellness and Why is it for me?
Holistic wellness is the approach to pain or imbalance in the body that are treated not just at the physical level but also the emotional and spiritual level. This is different for each individual and is cultivated in an individualized treatment plan. You are looked at as the whole person, not just your symptoms. Symptoms can be physical, such as sleep issues, digestive imbalances, for example or emotional symptoms, such as anxiety, depression and stress.
The drive to find an alternative health care approach came from my work with clients. After 15 years of creating relationships with clients, through massage, I would hear their health care journey. It was clear to me that what was currently being provided through Western medicine was not always the successful approach.
Western Medicine treats the symptoms you come in with, for example, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), medication is given to help subside the effects of diarrhea ,cramping, change in bowel movements. But IBS is not treated.
The Ayurvedic approach (Eastern Medicine) will take the same symptoms, and use the holistic approach. How are you eating your food? Slow? What foods are you eating? How long has this been occurring long term or short term?

A possible item on the treatment plan would be starting your day with warm water with some lemon, every morning before tea/coffee. A separate item my be to eat your meals at the same time every day. No medication is given, the approach is a change in some lifestyle routines. Herbs and spices maybe introduced as well but this approach allows you to make slow adjustments that can shift the symptom in your body to then find the imbalance, or root of the cause.
Ayurveda medicine believes the root of all imbalances start in the digestive system. Thus most of the approach is handled through diet, lifestyle and herbs. These treatment approaches work on supporting the different systems of the body. Medication tends to mask the symptoms and not treat the cause.
At the Ayurvedic Health Counselor level, I can support your journey through suggestions to change, an interested person to hold you accountable and track your progress. Also, I have the knowledge to support when an adjustment needs to be made to the initial treatment plan. We work together on this alternative approach to your healing.
