Shirodhara
Shirodhara, often described as the “third eye oil therapy,” is one of Ayurveda’s most profoundly calming treatments. This deeply restorative therapy involves the gentle, continuous pouring of warm, herbal-infused oil onto the forehead, directly over the “third eye” area. Combined with a soothing head and neck massage, Shirodhara works to calm the nervous system, melt away stress, and bring the mind into a state of deep peace and clarity.
What is Shirodhara?
During your Shirodhara session, you’ll recline comfortably while a steady stream of warm oil flows rhythmically onto the center of your forehead. This process stimulates the third eye (ajna chakra), helping to release tension, quiet overactive thoughts, and guide the mind into a meditative state.
The session begins with a 20-minute head and neck massage to ease muscular tension and prepare the body for relaxation. Once the Shirodhara stream begins, the mind naturally shifts into a deeply restful state, similar to meditation or the moments just before sleep. Many clients describe this therapy as “one of the most relaxing experiences of their lives.”
This treatment is especially recommended for those experiencing high stress, insomnia, anxiety, or mental fatigue.
